Easy to use UPEI Searchable Timetable website December 27, 2008

Today I created a UPEI timetable database which users can search to find out what classes are offered between the requested times.

This makes the timetable much more easier to search for courses that people may be interested in taking between certain times.

An example: Last semester I had a class on Tuesday afternoon at 2pm-3pm and Tuesday night at 7pm-10pm. I wanted to take a course between 3pm-4pm but did not see anything on the official timetable. Upon closer inspection later on, I seen a course I could have take and was interested in.

Now, students will be able to search courses offered during time slots to allow for them to easily fill in any empty slots in their timetable. As well, students can narrow it down by course year so only certain year courses come up.

The information is retrieved from the official timetable and entered into a database automatically every month. This will then allow students to easily search the database to obtain the courses available.

The website address for this project is http://upei.morriscode.ca

As always, suggestions are always welcome.
