Opera Mini Custom Search December 28, 2008

On my Blackberry I use Opera Mini to surf the web. The thing I use the most (besides bookmarks) is the search feature built into the Opera Mini Browser.

The search feature provides you with the ability to easily search Google, Amazon, Wikipedia and ebay without bringing up their respective sites to type in your search query. You simply load up the Opera Mini browser on your Blackberry and select which search engine, type in your search query and voila, it will bringup your webpage as if you searched for it from your own website!

All you need to do is setup your website to allow GET, then add your site to the Search function in Opera Mini and where you would normally type in the search term, type in %s.

An example (using google):

The following url will return results on morriscode.
http://www.google.ca/search?q=morriscode

The next url will return results on what ever you typed into the search box in Opera Mini.
http://www.google.ca/search?q=%s
