The Guardian has posted a story about Homburg Invest. Inc. who has launched a lawsuit against the Tweels in regards to their properties downtown.
The lawsuit claims properties owned by the Tweel companies in downtown Charlottetown are vacant, under-occupied, derelict, dilapidated, run down, unsightly, susceptible to fire, susceptible to crime and vandalism and are non-compliant with the city’s bylaws or building codes.
Are things in Charlottetown that bad that private companies are filing lawsuits against landowners? Where is the city at when it comes to enforcing it's bylaws. If Homburg Invest. Inc. is right, this definitely won't make the city look too good as they should be the ones enforcing the bylaws and not private companies who have to jump through hoops to do development in the downtown core.
