It's no secret, I've been telling lots of people I've been playing Nortel Networks for a while now.
At 10 cents a share its hard to resist. At 1000 shares, the max I would be out is $100. If the share ends up going up to a dollar in a few years time, then great. I'm up 90 cents a share.
But this company has a lot of assets it could sell of while under bankruptcy protection. In fact if it ends up selling it's Metro Ethernet Networks, which analyst have said could cash in up to $1 billion.
So if the company emerges down the road and ends up increasing its share price then its a big bonus. If not, then I'm out a couple hundred bucks. Won't be the first risk, nor the last, I've taken.
On Monday, the fourth quarter earnings report will be out and this should tell us a lot. But I am worried that this is the first time they have not hosted a management conference call.
