While reports are that overall the tourism industry is up 1-2% (currently) I've heard complaints from some operators that things are down while obviously others are reporting things are up. From my point of view, the ones that have complained about things being down are the ones who haven't really changed much to their establishment.
What is surprising is the recent CBC Article. Overall you would think people would want to report this information to the government very quickly if it's going to help their industry out.
